Current Projects
Lars Windhorst, German entrepreneur and investor, is the CEO of Sapinda Deutschland GmbH, an investment and holding group. In this new position, he primarily handles investments in Germany and continental Europe ranging from private equity and debt to public equity. Early Beginnings Lars Windhorst is a name that many associate with a type of "economic child prodigy", dating back from his phenomenal childhood business ventures. His first business, started as a teen, was centered on computer components. By purchasing supplies from Far East manufacturers at rock-bottom prices, he realized enormous profits when he assembled and marketed the hardware. Touted as the "Wunderkind" of Germany's economy, he gained acceptance into business circles as an associate. As his small company quickly grew into a diversified corporation, he was the most famous young businessman in Germany. On that reputation, he was invited to accompany Ex-Chancellor Helmut Kohl on official state visits and to international business conventions. Business Development Through these travels, Lars Windhorst built a strong network of business associates. These connections proved to be valuable as his business continued to grow and expand throughout Asia. By 1996, his company, the Windhorst Group, had spread into the fields of trading and investment, real estate, finance, trade, and of course, electronics. By 2000 the computer industry shifted towards the Internet. Following suit, Lars Windhorst invested in the Internet, aiming at being listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Shortly thereafter, the Windhorst conglomerate felt the crunch of the Internet and stock market crash, encouraging Lars Windhorst to change his business focus. New Markets Lars Windhorst co-founded the British fund Sapinda International in 2004. Following a general restructuring of Sapinda, he worked through major financial difficulties and brought the company back to life through his profitable investments in business finance. |
